Getting started
iPhone: get Outwatch from the App Store.
Open the app and type your name. That’s it: no email, no password. Your phone is now your account’s first device.
Playing
How the game works: the rules are in the app: tap ? at the top of Home.
Spoilers: Outwatch never shows you results from an episode you haven’t marked as watched.
Deadlines: Calls for each episode lock when it airs, 8 pm ET. The app shows every deadline before it arrives.
Your players
Add a player (a kid on your phone or a kid with their own phone): tap your name at the top of Home, then Players › Add a player. An account holds up to 10 players. Please use a first name or nickname for kids.
Players: tap your name at the top of Home, then Players. It lists the players on that phone (you, and up to 2 kids), then everyone else. Each player has their own calls and their own “watched”.
Adult PIN: asked only on a phone where kids play. The first kid you add to your phone asks you to set one (4 digits): it keeps kids out of your calls and settings there. Change it with your name › Players › Adult PIN. Forgot it? Tap Forgot PIN? and choose new digits: they work 24 hours later (a week on a phone where kids play), unless the old PIN is entered first. Or another adult resets it on their own phone: Players, then your name, then Reset PIN. You choose the new digits there.
Add a phone (another phone or tablet of yours, a kid’s own phone, or another adult’s new phone): your name › Players › Phones › Add a phone. On the new phone, scan the code with its camera, or open Outwatch and tap Have a code?. A code works once, for 10 minutes. A kid’s own phone plays as that kid only. An adult’s phone waits until you let it in on yours (if they have a PIN, they type it there).
Rename or remove a player: your name › Players, then tap their name. On a phone where kids play, removing anyone asks for your PIN. An adult can remove another adult, or leave (Remove me); their phones sign out with them.
Tribes
The Tribe rules. Before an adult starts, names or joins a Tribe, they agree to these:
Keep names kind and suitable for kids.
No offensive, hateful, sexual or abusive names, and no private information. Outwatch has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
Report a name that breaks these rules. Outwatch reviews every report within 24 hours. A name that breaks the rules is removed, and the account can lose Tribes.
Start or join a Tribe. An adult starts a Tribe and shares its code or link. Your players join together. Kids never start, join or leave on their own.
Report a name. Tap Report next to a Tribe name or an adult’s name that breaks the rules. It’s usually hidden while we review it, and we review every report within 24 hours. Kids’ names show only as a first initial.
If a name is taken down. The account that typed it can’t type Tribe names for the rest of the season (it can still roll one). A second name taken down, or anything hateful, sexual or threatening, and the account leaves every Tribe for the season. It can still play at home.
Leave a Tribe. An adult can leave at any time with Leave Tribe on the Tribe screen. Your past weeks stay with the Tribe. Deleting your account removes them.
Remove a phone. The adult who started the Tribe, or a co-admin, can remove another phone from the Tribe screen. The starter can’t be removed.
What other Tribes see. A rival Tribe sees your Tribe’s name, flag and weekly average, never who is in it, and never a kid.

Your phone
Reminders: tap your name, then Settings › Reminders, to turn them on or off. They’re for an adult on their own phone where no kids play. You can also turn them off in iPhone Settings › Notifications › Outwatch. We never put results or castaway names in a notification.
Face ID (or Touch ID) lock: tap your name, then Settings › Face ID lock (Touch ID lock on an iPhone with Touch ID). It’s for an adult on their own phone where no kids play. If it doesn’t recognize you, your iPhone passcode unlocks it.
“Can’t reach Outwatch”: check your connection. The app tries again by itself when you’re back online.
A new iPhone: your sign-in usually moves with an encrypted backup or Quick Start. If it doesn’t, add it with Add a phone, on another phone of yours or another adult’s.
From Safari into the app: in Safari, tap your name › Settings › Open in the app, then type the code it shows in the app (Have a code? on its first screen). On an adult’s phone, go back to Safari: if it shows the same number as the app, tap Yes, that was me. Safari signs out once the app has it.
Lost your only device? With no email on file, an account can’t be recovered: keep another phone or tablet of yours signed in, or another adult on their own phone. A kid’s own phone can’t add phones.
Leaving
Delete my account: tap your name at the top of Home, then Settings › Delete my account. This deletes every player, call and device in it, right away and for good (backup copies clear within 30 days). Deleting the app alone doesn’t delete your account. Can’t open the app? An adult on the account can email support@outwatch.tv with the account’s name, and we delete it within 30 days.
Remove one player: your name › Players, then tap their name (your PIN first on a phone where kids play). Their calls and “watched” go with them, and their own phones sign out.
Sign out of one phone: your name › Settings › Sign out. It asks first if it’s your account’s only phone (once that one signs out, nobody can sign back in, and the account is deleted 30 days later; to delete it now, use Delete my account), or the last adult’s phone (a kid’s own phones would sign out with it).
